COUNT THE STREAM

Every ear counted. Every dollar counted.

“No one can get hurt.”

This free tool is the money count for a record — the writer’s share against the publisher’s share, stream by stream and dollar by dollar: what came in, what is owed, to whom, and whether it arrived. A count that doesn’t reconcile doesn’t close. Everything runs in your browser — nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Count the Stream is free for independent artists, forever. Put it on your home screen like any app — no store, no account, no cost, and it works offline once it's yours. Keep it in your pocket for statement day.

On iPhone: tap Share, then "Add to Home Screen."  ·  On Android: tap the menu (⋮), then "Install app" or "Add to Home screen." The mark lands on your phone, and the count travels with you.

The Count — Streams, Shares, And The Ledger

Work from your own paper and your own statements. Enter the split the way your split sheet reads — the writer’s share and the publisher’s share must total exactly 100, or the count does not run. Count every source, then stand every payee on the ledger with what they are owed and what they have been paid. The count sheet prints only when the count reconciles: every row whole, nobody overpaid, and the verdict standing on the page — balanced, or exactly what is still owed.

The Split — From Your Paper

The two shares of the record’s money, exactly as your split sheet reads. They must total exactly 100.

Enter both shares from your paper — the count runs when the two total exactly 100.

The Streams — Source By Source

One row per source, the way the statement reads: how many streams, and the gross that source paid for them.

The Ledger — Who Is Owed, Who Was Paid

Every payee on the record stands here by name — what they are owed, what they have been paid, and the balance between. The count reads BALANCED only when at least one payee stands on the ledger and every balance is exactly zero.

Keep this sheet with the record’s paper. Count it again when a new statement lands.
